BREAKING POINT

By Dr. Ryan James Rivera

Came the pandemic, it’s a hell of a ride.

We didn’t see it coming, it’s time to decide.

To act quickly on our feet,

or else we’ll face defeat.

We survived and some did not.

We have each other and that’s all we got.

We almost reached our limit.

But thank God, we endured it.

REBORN

By Dr. Elvie Razon-Gonzales

I lock our clinic door, rub my hands with a generous amount of alcohol. I quicken my pace as I head to my happy place: stacks of books on the floor, wall-to-wall books mounted in four corners, posters of vintage covers above. For one glorious hour, I sniff the moldy pages and I am reborn.

LIFE ZOOMED OUT

By Dr. Iris Thiele Isip-Tan

I was comfortable enough online BC (Before Covid).

But life became a series of Zoom meetings.

Meetings which could have been emails.

I refuse to be Zoombified!

One Zoom meeting at a time.

No matter how many gadgets I could turn on.

Leave meeting. Go to next.

My life by Google calendar.

Close laptop.

Sleep.
