Dream and hope…
The resolve to rise again and
Takes it all away in instant but not
How sweet and simple life is until the dreaded disease
All safely secured through time achieved with comfort and ease
The basic things I need I readily have: air to breathe, water to drink, food to live
The world went to a standstill…
Was not planning but fate brought me here.
One-click, one look, t’was just one.
And that is how my affair began.
“One episode,” I said, “Maybe just one.”
One became two, and two became three.
And my nights swiftly turned to days.
That is how my Kdrama affair began.

Pandemic has brought joy, peace,
at the same time fear and anxiety.
It has made us closer yet far to reach.
It makes us feel like heroes of our times.
Yet cowards in moments alone.
Elation after watching Netflix as we lost ourselves to a different time zone.
but guilty of all the wasted time.
Suddenly, everything is meaningless.
Sickness lingers, with no help in sight.
Desperate people calling, praying, crying.
Friends and loved one’s suffering.
Unable to help, to move, to speak.
Death swallows up Everything, it seems.
Yet light pierces the darkness
Strength and purpose surges
The present is a gift, the future a promise.
Hope endures.
Everyone’s indoors, except me.
Highways clear
Business districts still
Traffic lights out
Not one in sight
Speeding through streets
Slowing down at occasional checkpoints
Flashing my HCW free pass
Never felt so free
Shamelessly telling everyone to stay at home.
To keep themselves from getting sick
But secretly pleased.
Because it’s actually all for me
