To all GI Fellows-In-Training,

The Philippine Society of Digestive Endoscopy (PSDE), a Component Society of the Philippine Society of Gastroenterology (PSG), in its mission to improve the standards of digestive endoscopy in our country, is proud to announce the Basic Endoscopy Skills Training (BEST) Workshop on September 30, 2023 to October 1, 2023 at the St. Luke’s Medical Center Global City. This highly anticipated workshop is held annually in collaboration with the Academy of Endoscopy, an international group of well-renowned endoscopy experts and educators led by American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) Master Endoscopist Awardee, Professor Roy Soetikno. This year, equally renowned experts from the St. Luke’s Medical Center, the UP- Philippine General Hospital, the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center and the East Avenue Medical Center will complete the high-caliber faculty roster.

Focusing on the expert-performance approach, this innovative program utilizes evidence-based concepts of simulation-based mastery learning to provide high-quality instruction. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on skills training experience that combines active learning methods with deliberate practice and informative feedback. Within the two-day workshop, young endoscopists will be able to acquire and refine their skills in basic diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, at par with global standards.

We thank the Philippine College of Physicians for its continued support in our mission to elevate the quality of GI endoscopy in the country thru scientifically established teaching methods.
