FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

*Who is NOT eligible to avail a Certificate of Good Standing (CoGS) from the Philippine College of Physicians?

If any of the the following is met, you are NOT eligible to avail a Certificate of Good Standing from the Philippine College of Physicians:

1.  If the PCP member (with active status) has failed to attend the Annual/Midyear PCP Convention in 2 consecutive years.  This does not apply to the Affiliate Society Members (i.e. PCP Members from Diabetes Philippines, Philippine Dermatological Society, Philippine Neurology Association, and Philippine Society of Nuclear Medicine); and/or
 
2.  If  the PCP member has not completely paid his arrears from the national and local chapter  (this can be verified/checked with the National Secretariat)  in full (unless that member has come to an agreement with his/her chapter for an installment payment scheme) at the time of application for CGS; and/or
 
3. If  the PCP Member HAS NOT yet earned at least 15 accumulated PCP CPD Units (meaning the CPD units were earned specifically from a PCP activity, and not from just any CPD earning medical convention/symposia) within the year, or 30 accumulated PCP CPD Units within 2 years by June 1, 2018, or 45 accumulated PCP CPD Units within 3 years by June 1, 2019.  
   
    If PCP Affiliate Society Members HAS NOT yet earned at least 5 accumulated PCP CPD Units (meaning the CPD units were earned specifically from a PCP activity, and not from just any CPD earning medical convention/symposia) within the year, or 10 accumulated PCP CPD Units within 2 years by June 1, 2018, or 15 accumulated PCP CPD Units within 3 years by June 1, 2019
 
    For our purposes, the chapter only needs to monitor the total number of PCP CPD Units earned, regardless from which track it was earned from (i.e. Professionalism Track, Academic Track, or Self-directed/Lifelong Learning Track); and/or
 

4. If the PRC license of the PCP Member is expired.  The PRC Physician's license must be at least 1 month valid at the time of application for CoGS.   It is assumed that the reason a PCP Member is seeking CoGS is because he is actively practicing and hence, it is only expected that the member has a valid PRC license; and/or

5.  If the PCP member is not certified as an active member in the PCP Chapter where s/he belongs to.

 

*Where can a PCP member or a PCP Affiliate Society Member get a Certificate of Good Standing, CoGS?

A PCP member or a PCP Affiliate Society Member can get his or her CoGS from the PCP Local Chapter where he/she is a member of during office hours.
