How to become a member

Applications for membership as AFFILIATE MEMBER must include the following supporting documents : 

1) Application Form completely filled up with proper endorsements;

2) Two passport-sized pictures;

3) Photocopies of: medical school diploma, internship certificate, certification of residency training in a PCP-accredited hospital;

4) Payment of membership fee. 

The annual deadline for submission of applications for AFFILIATE MEMBER is on 15 March.  Incomplete applications will not be accepted.  There will only be two (2) induction ceremonies each year, during the annual convention in May and during the midyear convention in October.  Physical presence is a must for induction. 

An Affiliate Member who intends to take the PCP certifying examinations for Diplomate in Internal Medicine immediately after   completing   his residency training in Internal Medicine (Year 4) must apply for Affiliate Membership once he enters his second year of residency training.  One of the current qualifications to take the written certifying examinations is one (1) year of Affiliate membership in good standing from the time of induction. The requirements for membership in good standing include prompt payment of dues, compliance with the required PCP-CME credit units per year and attendance in annual and midyear conventions. 

An Affiliate can remain as such for a period not to exceed ten (10) years.   During this period, he must pursue efforts to qualify for full membership and eventually fellowhsip in the College. An Affiliate who remains in this category in excess of ten (10) years shall be dropped from the rolls of the College.  (As amended on May 8, 1997)
