I wear a mask, cover everything I can and walk through the bridge to the hospital.

I smile with my eyes, bow to those I recognize.

I talk to patients, calculate the distance, time spent and spray alcohol whenever, wherever.

I leave all the covers by the bridge, go home and hug my cat.

Repeat.

The Covid-19 outbreak for the past four years presents us all with an unprecedented amount of uncertainty. As a young clinician practicing medical oncology, I can say we are in an era facing clear and present danger--like in the movie by Harrison Ford. Everywhere and everyone is at risk. But with the advent of scientific evidence and research such as the invention of vaccines for the said infection currently, we have survived!
All these memories and guidance from my parents gave me the strength to lessen the fear of continuing work, taking care of my family and the community where I live, and most of all building trust for our patients to continue the treatment even during the pandemic.
